Low Carbon Energy Solutions Belfast & Northern Ireland

BSH Limited designs low carbon energy solutions combining biomass, combined heat and power, absorption chilling and hydrogen-ready systems, integrated within pre-packaged plantrooms.

Low Carbon Energy Solutions Belfast reflects BSH Limited's commitment to energy efficiency and helping reduce carbon emissions through promoting the use of future fuels including hydrogen. BSH can design combination fuelled systems that include heating, cooling, combined heat and power, domestic and control systems, with low carbon technologies a central element.

BSH's low carbon energy options include biomass heating using the Atmos wood- and pellet-fuelled range, combined heat and power that captures waste heat, absorption chilling using heat as its power source, and hydrogen-ready systems. BSH is the only UK company to utilise four of Sime's boilers to use mixed gas hydrogen as a fuel.

BSH holds the accolade for the largest trigeneration plant room in Europe in 2012, designed and built for Tesco in Naas, Co. Kildare, Ireland, and has received awards for creative designs featuring absorption chilling solutions, all demonstrated to reduce customers' carbon emissions.

Biomass heating for low carbon energy

BSH designs biomass systems using the Atmos wood-fuelled and pellet-fuelled boiler range, supported by SFL flue systems and Copper Industries thermal storage. All Atmos boilers comply with latest EU legislations for energy efficiency and emissions, making biomass a renewable low carbon energy route when fuel is sustainably sourced.

CHP, heat recovery and absorption chilling

Combined heat and power captures the heat that would otherwise be wasted during electricity generation, putting it to use for space heating, domestic hot water or process loads. Where cooling is also required, captured heat can drive Yazaki absorption chilling to produce cooling, improving overall efficiency and reducing carbon emissions compared with electric chillers.

Hydrogen-ready and future-fuels pathways

BSH is the only UK company to utilise four of Sime's boilers to use mixed gas hydrogen as a fuel, so low carbon energy solutions can keep future-fuels pathways open. BSH's consultancy specialisms include zero-emission steam systems for steam boiler replacement and zero-emission H2P hydrogen-to-power at grid scale, distinguishing established capabilities from technologies still under development.

How BSH can help

Problem

Buildings seeking to reduce carbon emissions from heating and cooling face a choice between several low carbon technologies — biomass, CHP, heat recovery, absorption chilling and hydrogen-ready systems — each suited to different conditions. Selecting and integrating the right combination requires specialist engineering.

Reaction

A poorly chosen or uncoordinated low carbon energy solution can fail to deliver expected emissions reductions, or conflict with the building's other services. Facilities managers and consultants need a specialist who can design a low carbon system matched to the building's loads and future-fuels goals.

Solution

BSH designs low carbon energy solutions combining biomass, CHP, absorption chilling and hydrogen-ready technology, integrated within pre-packaged plantrooms. Because the right solution depends on your building and goals, the next step is to discuss your requirements with BSH's engineers. Contact BSH to discuss your low carbon energy solutions project.
